Academics Plus

Academics Plus has operated in the Dallas metro (McKinney) since 1991, founded by Melinda Crenwelge (a doctoral reading specialist) and her husband Mark (a Master's-qualified mathematics educator). Stephanie Talley joined as an instructor in 2013, rose to Director, and purchased the business in 2015; she holds a Bachelor's in Elementary Education from Brigham Young University and is pursuing a PhD in Educational Psychology at Texas A&M Commerce. The center uses a diagnostic testing approach to identify and close specific math gaps before building forward, and has been named a Best of McKinney winner for 13 consecutive years through 2024. Published reviews specifically name tutor Garth as an amazing Physics and Math tutor who helped two high-school-age sons with AP coursework.
