About Brisbane German Language School (BGLS)
Brisbane German Language School (BGLS), established in 1963, is a not-for-profit institution offering German classes for children, youth and adults across four terms a year, with small class sizes for personalised attention. Since the Goethe-Institut no longer has a representative based in Brisbane, BGLS partners directly with the Goethe-Institut to administer internationally recognised German exams (A1-C2); it is also the only school in Queensland certified to test the DSD B1 level, part of the German Sprachdiplom network of roughly 1,100 schools worldwide under the Federal Foreign Office's PASCH program. Classes run at locations across Brisbane (including Indooroopilly, Paddington and Yeerongpilly) or online, with cultural events such as Fasching, Osterfest and Laternenfest woven into the community.
