About Instituto Cervantes Sydney
The Instituto Cervantes in Sydney is the official Spanish cultural and language centre for Australia, founded by the Government of Spain in 1991 and opened in Sydney in 2009. It offers general Spanish courses for adults (face-to-face and online) and children through its Cervantes Kids program, teacher training courses (some accredited by NSW's Board of Studies, Teaching and Educational Standards), and administers the DELE (Diploma of Spanish as a Foreign Language) exam for Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Brisbane, Auckland and Nouméa. The centre also holds a library of over 10,200 items and runs a cultural events program (cinema, book launches, theatre, exhibitions); public reviews put recommendation levels at 82% across a small sample of Facebook reviews.
