About Liverpool Confucius Institute (LCI)
The Liverpool Confucius Institute (LCI) is a collaborative project between the University of Liverpool, Xi'an Jiaotong University and the Chinese International Education Foundation, running since 2009 from a dedicated space on Mount Pleasant. It teaches Mandarin through HSK levels 1-4, Children's Mandarin (YCT 2 and YCT 4), and bespoke one-to-one classes led by Headteacher Dr Lei Peng, with sessions running twice a week for 1.5 hours during term time. Pricing for one-to-one tuition is £15/hour for University of Liverpool students, alumni and staff, or £20/hour for the general public (minimum five lessons). The LCI is an Official HSK Test Centre, holding the test offline, in-person and paper-based, and offers free taster sessions before enrolling. No public phone number is listed - all enquiries go through lci@liverpool.ac.uk.
