About Rutherford College Community Education Centre - Mandarin
Rutherford College Community Education Centre runs adult and whanau community courses out of Rutherford College in Te Atatu Peninsula, following the four-term school-year calendar. Its introductory Mandarin course helps students understand Chinese phonetics and tones, basic greetings and introductions, nationality, numbers, pricing, shopping and family member vocabulary, and cultural topics, with an emphasis on conversation. The centre is accredited by New Zealand's Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) to deliver subsidised courses for NZ citizens, permanent migrants and refugees; as with all community education courses, a minimum enrolment number is required for the class to proceed.
