The Arabic Academy of Edinburgh

The Arabic Academy of Edinburgh, based off Dalry Road on Cathcart Place, is a not-for-profit private organisation partially funded by the City of Edinburgh Council, established in 2006 and the only Arabic-specific language school in the city. It is an approved centre for setting up ELC, GCSE and GCE examinations, offering courses in Classical Arabic as well as Arabic as a First Language and Arabic as a Second Language, from pre-GCSE through Advanced Higher qualifications. Its distinctive teaching methodology emphasises current events over rote memorisation, and it also conducts research in Islamic jurisprudence and theology, provides Arabic document reviewing, and offers services in software localisation and digital threat analysis of web content.
