About Tourism Confucius Institute (Griffith University)
The Tourism Confucius Institute is a Chinese-government-supported partnership hosted at Griffith University, distinguished worldwide as the only Confucius Institute with a dedicated tourism focus. It runs beginner-to-advanced short courses in General Chinese, Tourism Chinese and Business Chinese, aimed at government, industry and community learners, plus after-school programs for school students and HSK proficiency exam preparation workshops. As with other Confucius Institutes, it is a Chinese-government-linked cultural and educational body, a model that has drawn public and parliamentary scrutiny in Australia and elsewhere, so prospective students may want to weigh that context alongside its course offering; enrolment and current course scheduling should be confirmed directly with the Institute.
