University of Glasgow Short Courses - Arabic

The University of Glasgow offers part-time evening and weekend Arabic short courses from Beginner A1 through Advanced C1, aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, running from the Advanced Research Centre on Chapel Lane. Courses are open to students, staff, alumni and members of the public, with discounts available for current University of Glasgow students and staff members. The introductory course (MFL1051) works toward A1.1 level, introducing the four fundamental skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing with a communication-first focus and cultural context; a recent Beginners A1 on-campus course ran Tuesdays 18:00-20:00 from late September through mid-March. The University also holds regular open evenings where prospective students can meet tutors in person before enrolling.
